Once again, Sonic, Knuckles and Tails face off against a formidable new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers beyond anything they have faced before. With their abilities surpassed, the Sonic team must find an unlikely alliance. Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Lee Majdoub share hobbies that may surprise their fans. The creators of the previous films cited Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and the single-player game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film also draws on narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993). As Tom (James Marsden) is being taken away in an ambulance, the sound of the ambulance is an American siren, not an English siren. siren… Commander Walters: [About Shadow] Project Shadow is beyond anything we’ve ever encountered. Shadow’s story began just like yours, Sonic’s. But where you found family and friends, Shadow found only pain and loss… SPOILER: There’s a scene in the end credits: Sonic arrives at a New York state park and is confronted by an army of Metal Sonic robots, but is saved by Amy Rose.. Takes place in Geeks + Gamers: Sonic 3 – Trailer Reaction (2024). Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is the best of the trilogy. The best writing, the best characterization, the great humor, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow. This movie is a departure from the first 2 movies, most notably in the tone of the film, this movie is a soulful adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2 and they did it better than I thought it would. Shadow’s past is hauntingly beautifully portrayed, not to mention his flawless CGI model, I was blown away by his appearance. Jim Carrey was hilarious as usual, an absolute gem of our franchise, as he played Ivo & Gerald. Ben Schwartz, Colleen & Co. Idris was as brilliant as ever. As a huge Sonic fan, this movie lived up to my expectations, what a feeling to be a Sonic fan! Simply one of the best parts of Sonic history. 9/10.
